Anonymity via Humboldt Herald Blog

Some sentiments regarding The Times-Standards attempts to rectify their Topix comments section by Humboldt Herald. Couldn't have said it better myself. Here's an excerpt:

Such sentiments from an anonymous blogger are sure to raise hackles of those who suffer elevated blood pressure from the existence of theHerald. But let us recall the oft-stated differences between this g*dd*mn f*cking blog and the proper, official, totally legit outfit that is the real newz.  Those reporters have names, phone numbers and offices where their professional hind ends can be contacted by people who care to deliver a grievance.  This blogger does not.  Feel free to spew away in the comments section below — they might even make it past moderation standards.

 What Heraldo says is not true. I brought to the Times-Standard's management what their premier Opinionator was doing and saying on their online comment section in Topix and the did absolutely nothing. I happened by chance, through an unrelated Google search to find Dave Stancliff railing against me with some of the most foul and obscene vitriol imaginable. I'd didn't even know about that forum, let alone make comments there. Yet there was a "Joe Blow" trying to defend him or herself with Dave Stancliff. As far as I am concerned, the Times-Standard opened the door to that problem a long time ago and has refused to deal with it all this time, because it served their personal interests. For me, they were merely providing him with another venue to spill the bile they wanted dumped on everyone. Keep repeating the lies and eventually it becomes the truth in everyone's minds. FAIT ACCOMPLI.

The DEVIL'S in the Details

This posting is really an update on my observations: The Bigot is Back posted below. It seems Ernie Branscomb has horned in on the discussion and brought in some others as well with his Monday, September 20, 2010, Not Fair! You going to join in the lawsuit too, Ernie?

My intent here is not for the purpose of justifying how or why I have dealt with the issue of Dave Stancliff as I did. Since his personal attacks against me and my family have escalated it seems only fair to clarify the purpose of the Joe Blow Report and why it exists. Considering the comment section along with Ernie's opinions, their bitch seems to be that they don't know who I am so they can vent their extremist demagoguery directly in my face or at my family. Or that Dave Stancliff can sue me for writing about some of his newspaper "opinions," personal public threats and demagogic vitriol. What hypocrisy! Dave Stancliff hides behind the newspaper “Opinion” writer's protection to assault and vilify at will and then accuses me of being a craven coward for not telling him who I am so he can try to hurt me and my family. It's a good thing I don't take any of this personal.

If I was interested in trying to be an egocentric bullying jerk out here in our community trying to tell everyone what is right and wrong and how to think and believe, I'd be the first one to post my picture and display my name. Joe Blow of the Joe Blow Report is hardly “anonymous.” Anytime I post a comment on any blog or website I am identified by name and picture. The issues raised on my blog stand on their own merit. As yet, all anyone does, when they don't like what's written is call me names and make bucket's full of unproven and unsubstantiated accusations. In all of Ernie Branscomb's 1,084 words in his “Not Fair!” opinion, NOT one word took issue with what I said or the issues I raised about the extremist rhetoric assaulting Law. This is the best Ernie could do, make a personal accusation, “To have “Joe Blow” openly taunting him, from behind his cowards curtain of anonymousness, seems to be patently unfair. ” Where's the “taunt” Branscomb? Is that all you know how to do, make unproven or unsubstantiated accusations. This is nothing more than a personal attack on the messenger. This is exactly why I tried to keep “ME” out of the fray, to avoid this very issue.

Apparently according to Ernie, and others, it's okay for Dave Stancliff to “taunt” me when it serves his or their interests. Dave Stancliff changed the rules when he got personal with his threats and ad homonym vitriolic diatribe. So, for those of you that can't quite figure all of this out, when he wrote this last piece and said the things he did, he self-defined himself as a neurotic “bigot” among other things. Since he made sure we are talking about one another and NOT what we say or what he got published in the very public newspaper, I made the simple observation.

Unlike Ernie Branscomb or Dave Stancliff, I don't write or blog to try to justify who or what I am in this life; why I exist. I don't need people to agree with my worthless opinions nor do I need to justify my legitimate right to exist as a person by telling everyone that doesn't agree with me how to think, act and believe. Ernie Branscomb, Dave Stancliff and everyone else that has joined in on their vitriolic diatribe are simply nothing more than blue ribbon hypocrites. Stancliff can personally threaten me and my family, call me every insulting, despicable and disgusting name in the book, rant like a neurotic extremist all over the Internet, and that's just fine with everyone. Let me point out some differing points of view regarding what he “wrote” and I'm a quivering coward “taunting” a poor, sensitive, emotionally fraught little sick Davey.

In all fairness, all of you people, with some rare exceptions, need to grow up and start taking some responsibility for what you say and do. Did I or Joe Blow asked any of you to read my blog? Did I ask you, Ernie Branscomb, to “swallow” anything? I DID NOT come on any of your blogs, or forum boards and say one word to any of you about this issue regarding Dave Stancliff's newspaper “opinion” article. Nor have I personally gone to any one of you and tried to turn your opinion against him or campaigned to get him out of the newspaper for what he's publicly done this past year to discredit himself. I pay for that Times-Standard newspaper I get everyday and I support some of their local advertisers. That gives me the legal right to express myself about what they publish whether I read what's in it or not. No one put a gun to anyone's head, made them come to my blogs and force-fed them my blog observation. You don't agree with me? So what! What makes you think or believe I care? If you want to take issue with my observations, fine - I leave the door open. Whenever I make a comment on someone's blog, my picture is always there identifying me – you are forewarned. No one forces you to read the comment or anything I say anywhere at anytime.

People come to the Joe Blow Report to read what's written there. Absolutely no one comes to the Joe Blow Report to read what "I" wrote. The real issue confronting everyone is that a select minority want to dictate who can blog and who cannot. It is about these so-called wannabe Elitist's right to enforce their personal wills upon all others - they define who the Law benefits. These would-be Elitist scum think they are in control today. Well, they are not.

For the readers benefit, Ernie and I went to school together. I knew his family and they knew mine. If Ernie knew who I am, he'd NEVER think to accuse me of being a coward. He'd know or should remember my stand on principles, religion and bullies. I've tried to explain, that in this kind of a situation, I am doing everyone a favor by keeping these kinds of people at arms length. You get personal with me, start threatening to take me to court because I write some observations about “opinions” published in the newspaper, you threaten my family and my children's inheritance. Anyone that follows my writings should know I take life very seriously. I don't hide behind a pseudonym because I have something to hide or because I'm afraid of online bullies or even off-line bullies.

Now that takes me to this latest attack from Dave Stancliff: Blogger Alert: I’m offering a reward for exposing hate blog author. Stancliff's good at throwing around pejorative accusations, isn't he? To "hate" Stancliff, I'd have to know him, now, wouldn't I? The fact is I've never met the man. Since he's posted his picture all over the Internet, I might recognize him should our paths cross on the street. The same goes for Ernie Branscomb. While I knew him in school 60 years ago, I haven't had any dealings with him since. So, what is it I hate you two?

Be interesting to know what the reward is. You'd think that people that have experienced as much life as Stancliff and Branscomb, they would have learned by now the life works BOTH ways. In fact,this was quoted in the news today: “When a War Starts, It Knows No Limits.”

Once again, this would-be obsessed parasite has come to my Internet home to tell me what a wonderful person he “thinks” I am and how he plans to treat my family and me in the future. I can hardly contain myself. I can't tell you how long I've waited for this particular comment. With this threat, Mr. Stancliff crossed the line and changed the rules for the second time. From this day forward everything he posts to the Joe Blow Report blogs goes automatically in the trash.

I wonder if people, BULLIES like Dave Stancliff ever understand, it is NEVER about fear of them or their threats, it is fear of self. Problem is, Dave Stancliff has proven himself to be much more than just a run-of-the-mill Internet Bully. These people, as clearly demonstrated in everything Dave Stancliff has said throughout the Internet and on the Joe Blow Report, including his current conduct, manifests the exact rhetoric or language of a terrorist suicider. I say that, because that's what you are when you attack another man's family to get at him. The tragedy here, is that suicide bombers don't just crawl out from under a rock one day and decide to go try to hurt people - they develop over time. If Dave Stancliff ever had any credibility as a writer or any legitimacy as a human being all he had to do was let his work speak for him, stay out of or off of my Internet home and keep his mouth shut. It is rather difficult to libel and slander someone for defending yourself against their lies and unproven false accusations when they come to your home and personally assault you.

Highlighted here for posterity is Dave Stancliff's latest public comment, referenced below and posted on the other Joe Blow Report's latest observations “Fixation or Obsession?” in response to his previous comment referencing the article: Living With Dignity. Energetic Parasites look for any weakness or even a perception of some weakness as their way to bore in with their weasel words. These “weasel word” statements end here, enough is enough.

The purpose of these Joe Blow Report blogs are to present impartial, non-personal objective “OBSERVATIONS.” I refrain from writing personal, what we consider “worthless opinions” or conjecture. My goal is to remain impersonal and objective and let the facts speak for themselves. I write “anonymously” to avoid ego entanglements – to keep the “subject” separated from the “object.” We thought we'd done a pretty good job of staying objective until we had the misfortune to write about one of Dave Stancliff's As It Stands “opinions” published in the paper. Little did we know we'd uncovered one of the Anti-Christ' servants. He's tried to make our blog life hell ever since. Now he wants to make my family and my personal lives hell as well. I keep resisting him, but he just keeps coming back again and again. I gave him plenty of rope to demonstrate his true nature and he has, but that rope ran out today, Friday the 13th.  A rather appropriate day, I'd say.

I was reading Glenn Greenwald's Salon.com article, “How propagandists function: Exhibit A” where he says,

“This is what a propagandist, by definition, does: asserts any claim as fact in service of a concealed agenda without the slightest concern for whether it's true.”

Dave Stancliff, for the past year has come on this blog and demonstrated exactly how “a propagandist” operates in finite detail with each and everyone of his comments. He "asserts" claim after claim and NEVER produces the slightest proof to justify his worthless assertions. Look below. You won't find any. Just his "assertions" he claims are "facts." It's actually a thing of beauty if you have the stomach, patience and time to wade through the history of his ever evolving self-judgment.

For entertainment purposes, since this is the last time I intend to deal with this scummy crap that keeps getting deposited on this blog, lets entertain the first idea he spouts off about and see what it tells us about him. He says,

“Your biggest fear is having your real idenity [sic] revealed Joe.”

What supernatural power does he possess that allows him to know “my fears”? This is what makes Dave Stancliff a “would-be god,” his stated ability to tell me and everyone else what I think, how they should think and what they should believe because he can read our hearts. He really needs to go back to his Sunday, August 1, 2010, “As It Stands: 'I know I'm right' syndrome or being stupid and proud of it” and keep his own counsel.
 
If you don't know, the Anti-Christ is that really good looking guy that passes himself off as Jesus Christ and all things that Jesus stands for or embodies. What gives him away is he's the very antithesis of Jesus. He proves to be exactly what he is. He doesn't tell lies, he is, in fact, "a liar." The Anti-Christ proves to be a malicious slanderous murderous, liar and hypocrite. At least that's how he's partially defined in the Holy Bible. I'd say he sounds a whole lot like Glenn Greenwald's “Propagandist.”

Conspicuously posted on the Joe Blow Report's Home Page Sidebar is the following partial statement: “Please be aware that the Joe Blow Report speaks for itself. You may or may not agree, but just remember, that is your issue.” Remember, anonymous writers or bloggers are fictitious entities. They live and die by the integrity and credibility of what they write, NOT by who they are. So how does a pseudonym or a non-entity slander, stalk, harass and attack with malicious intent, etc. someone that lives and dies by who and what he or she is? The fact is, something that is nothing can not. The joke is on Dave Stancliff and always was. He is a real person and Joe Blow is not. And that is the reason Dave Stancliff is driven to try to put a living face on Joe Blow. He shows this foolishness and stupidity, because Joe Blow is timeless.

The ability to end whatever it is Dave Stancliff believes plagues him, his sickness, was always his to end anytime he wanted. He made his choice, and that's that.

. . . and The Cyber Bullies

Yeah! That's me behind that lovable face.

Who is the "me"? For all you know, Joe Blow can and could be anybody. Actually, he's not really hiding. So, why not just identify him? Or, is it them? Who knows?

Joe Blow is NOT anonymous, either. Joe Blow is an Internet identity that when seen is instantly recognized and understood to represent a certain personality with well-established characteristics. He's no different than Elmo, or Kermit with a little bit of Miss Piggy thrown in. All anyone really needs to know about Joe Blow is posted for all to see:

"Number One Nobody! Born in Eureka, (Fifth generation) raised in Humboldt County. World traveled and life educated. American refugee. Lives forever."

The Joe Blow Report's purpose for existence is also clearly posted for all to see:

"This report is about fair and honest observations and not about opinions."

The governing principle driving that purpose is also posted:

"Everything Is About Something Different"

Joe Blow is here to ferret-out the "hidden agenda." This is the reason the Joe Blow Report exists. If possible, to find the hidden, the covert, the subterfuge, the deception, the scheme, to show the truth behind the lie. Ultimately, to expose the liar; the "wolf in sheep's clothing." To quote an old saying: Neither Joe Blow, the Joe Blow Report nor its writer(s) have an "ax to grind." That means: "Have a dispute to take up with someone or, to have an ulterior motive/ to have private ends to serve."

Joe Blow knows there are risks involved in such an endeavor, but that is not why he or she, (or is it they?), write behind the pseudonym, Joe Blow. Joe Blow is and always was a "NOBODY"! To objectively write "observations" he must remain a "NOBODY." To become "somebody" is to interject personality with the logical worthless opinions that accompany that person(s). For Joe Blow to lose his state of obscurity would destroy his Report.

Bullies, we all know, exist by sucking off of other people they believe are only there to serve their wants and needs. Anyone that doesn't conform to that bully's opinions is a direct threat to that bully's existence. They live only to control and will sink to whatever depths of deprivation necessary to achieve that goal. The transparent reality of a successful bully is to threaten violent assault on their victim's person, property, family or whatever they think is important to evoke an emotional response; either anger or fear. Their whole game is to get you to give them the legitimate right to bully and control you. If they can get you to become emotional, if they can get you to recognize them in some way, you inadvertently give them that right and are, therefore, vulnerable to defeat and control.

Joe Blow clearly understood the risks of promoting such a Weblog. That is why he clearly posted the Report's purpose under:

Please be aware that the Joe Blow Report speaks for itself. You may or may not agree, but just remember, that is your issue. The Report is offered as a free gift to whomever desires to read it. Please accept it as such. The Report respects the rights of all individuals to be who and what they are. All the same there are consequences for what each individual does and does not do. If the Report stimulates a little thinking, it has fulfilled it's purpose.

Joe Blow fully understands that whatever is posted on the Internet or printed in newspapers or spoken on television or on the radio bears the responsibility for being PUBLIC property, albeit sometimes copyrighted. Let's hope that those Joe observes and reports about understand that as well. In other words, if you do not want to read or hear about someone's observations, keep quiet! No where in the recorded history of these Reports does Joe Blow single-out any individual, group, business, political organization, religious organization, sexual orientation, nationality, government, country or any of the many other diverse peoples whose sole reason for existence is to promote or denigrate other people or issues for special and personal assault. To produce credible observations Joe Blow must remain neutral -- no personal, political, religious or any other bias.

These Weblog Reports are dedicated to thinking people. If the bigoted racist, the stupid, inane, moronic, paranoid, vacuous bully, or the ideologue believer that's locked into the Dark Ages, is offended by this, then so be it. They need to grow up and get a life.

That is how they expose the truth of themselves. Merely infer that what they say or write is lacking some sense of knowledgeable logic or that they ignorantly made a "simpleminded" mistake then sit back to see if it was a simple mistake or a malicious and deliberate deception. If it was a mistake or a simple error in judgment, people will usually acknowledge it, correct the problem and simply move on. However if they were deliberate and malicious, they get extremely angry, go ballistic and personally attack with all kinds of foul and malicious accusations. That is how they show everyone exactly who and what they are. They are thus judged by what they do and say and everyone is a witness to that judgment. At that point the Universal Law of Karma is enforced and these people receive exactly what they sowed.

Joe Blow's life endeavor is to practice the four governing principles of "The Four Agreements" as documented by Don Miguel Ruiz.

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
2. Don't Take Anything Personally
3. Don't Make Assumptions
4. Always Do your Best

Sometimes bullies can be very intimidating, specially when they threaten your family, your property and livelihood, making a perfect application of these Agreements very difficult. It's in the trying that defines the character.

It is in this "trying" that the Joe Blow Report finds inspiration in a world of bullies, descending into chaos and the Dark Ages.
