The special US-Israeli relationship is as secure today as it has ever been. There is no danger that Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress will have a “destructive” effect on our commitment to Israel’s “security”. After listening to National Security Adviser, Susan Rice’s, speech to AIPAC this evening, I shut off the television and realized, to my chagrin, that, if anything, Israel may even benefit from the international media soap opera touched off by Netanyahu’s hubris: shame on our political leaders, news commentators and spin doctors for allowing the personal animosity between US President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, divert us, yet again, from the real issues.

Bypassing President Obama, Netanyahu accepted an invitation by Senate Majority Leader, John Boehner, to address the US Congress on the topic of Iran. It would hardly surprise me to learn that this invitation was deliberately engineered to humiliate Obama publicly; to bolster the mainstream Republican agenda on Iran; and to elevate Netanyahu’s standings in the upcoming Israeli elections this March 17th. Whether his speech to Congress will, in fact, have a positive effect on the latter is arguable and depends, to some extent, on just how outrageous and duplicitous the content of Netanyahu’s lecture turns out to be.

A few things remain unclear: either Netanyahu doesn’t read the news, he is hoping that nobody else notices Israel’s de facto alliance with ISIS, or he is more concerned with poking Obama in the eye publicly than in the future of his country, a fact that would not surprise me. Focusing on the dangerous forces lurking in his “neighborhood”, Netanyahu singles out Iran, Lebanon (by which he presumably means Hizbullah), Syria, and Hamas. Unlike most Americans, Netanyahu views the potential of a nuclear capable Iran as a greater threat to regional stability than the spread of ISIS and extremist groups, such as al-Qaida.

With even Saudi Arabia, fearing Blowback, reversing course on its official policy toward ISIS by making it illegal for its nationals to fight in foreign wars (an about face from the nation whose extremist, fundamentalist form of Islam — Wahhabism — has been among its leading exports for over 40 years, and certainly its deadliest) it is that much more disturbing to note the silence echoing from Tel Aviv.

Instead Netanyahu has regaled us with tirade after tirade on the ramifications of an Iranian nuclear bomb and the existential threat it poses little Israel — ironic since Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has categorically stated that his country doesn’t want one.

Why would he lie? A nuclear-armed Iran would be its country’s suicide note to the world before being “obliterated” (to use former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton’s, word) by the United States. Iran would like to acquire nuclear technological know-how – not an atomic arsenal – the sanest possible acquisition in a ‘neighborhood’ where the only nuclear-armed power, Israel, threatens Iran’s destruction almost daily, and has wreaked havoc on the region routinely for nearly 7 decades. How else might Iran succeed in deterring Israeli militarism, and how else might Iran – a country whose conventional armed forces barely allow a defensive capability – move forward into a future in which it is not bullied and brow-beaten into submission, preferring instead to seek the option of independent energy efficiency, and freedom from a regional hegemon whose godfather already enjoys unrivaled authority over most of that hemisphere?

All speculation aside, what strikes me as the most obvious piece of information to re-emerge from the tempest now brewing in Washington is that Benjamin Netanyahu is an unscrupulous, scheming, vile man who has taken the meaning of “chutzpah” to new heights in his display of unseemly and undiplomatic behavior. That no world leader has yet demanded that he and his regime be made to answer for its brutally criminal, scandalous policies time and again compels us to recognize how grievously weak and flawed the ‘international community’ is, and by extension, how depraved those leaders are whose actions are considered most synonymous with it. It takes the unknown human rights organizations on the ground in the Gaza Strip, the Mezan Center for Human Rights and the Palestine Center for Human Rights, to have to beseech the world repeatedly, day after day, to compel Israel and the United States to adhere to the most fundamental precepts of international law and accepted standards of humanitarian and diplomatic behavior.

What we are watching today, and have been a party to for the past few weeks is yet another media-political circus for the sake of narrow sectarian interests. A genuine rift in US-Israeli relations would manifest itself in long overdue concrete policies the US would demand of its client regime: an immediate end to the building of illegal Jewish settlements on all occupied Palestinian land; recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state; a full moratorium on the on-going theft and use of natural resources outside the boundaries of the Green Line, or borders that existed prior to June 4th, 1967; a complete withdrawal of all military checkpoints and barriers within occupied Palestinian land; an immediate halt to the blockade of the Gaza Strip, the withholding of tax revenues from the Palestinian Authority, and the closure of crossing points into and out of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

It would mean the end to all restriction of movement by Palestinians to and from the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, and the right of any Palestinian to return to that land now recognized by a majority of the world’s nations as a Palestinian state.

In short, a genuinely ‘destructive’ rift in US-Israeli relations would suggest at the very least a beginning to the end of America’s unconditional support for Israel’s occupation of Palestine. It would commence the end to an occupation whose accompanying militarization and brutalization has had ramifications for countries as far away as Iran and that will continue to contribute to the growing havoc and destruction Western colonial and United States’ imperial history have wrought on the region we know as the Middle East.

Welcome to America's Gaza

[UPDATE II :: No First Amendment Rights for "war combatants"]

What happened to the Palestinian people in the so-called occupied territories, primarily in Gaza is exactly what is happening in America and for basically the very same reasons. First lets demonstrate the complete disconnect in reality when dealing with two similar peoples. Barack Obama says, when discussing the beheading death of James Foley Wednesday, August 20, 2014 by the Islamic State:

"They declared their ambition to commit genocide against an ancient people. So ISIL speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just god would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt. They may claim out of expediency that they are at war with the United States or the West, but the fact is they terrorize their neighbors and offer them nothing but an endless slavery to their empty vision and the collapse of any definition of civilized behavior." 

Now look at a similar people, as Obama characterizes, driven by nihilistic ideologies.  They conduct themselves in the same barbaric hateful terroristic ways, just change a couple of his words:

(Nihilism: 1. total rejection of established laws and institutions. 2. anarchy, terrorism, or other revolutionary activity. 3. total and absolute destructiveness, especially toward the world at large and including oneself.)

Let’s be clear about Israel (ISIL). They have rampaged across cities and villages killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence. They abduct women and children and subject them to torture and rape and slavery. They have murdered Palestinian Muslims, both Sunni and Shia), by the thousands. They target Christians and religious minorities, driving them from their homes, murdering them when they can, for no other reason than they practice a different religion."

The only real difference in the beheading of innocent people between ISIL and Israel is that Israel doesn't behead with a knife. They are far more sophisticated and efficient - their barbarism is an art form. While the literal slaughter of the Palestinian people by Israel is about as depraved and abhorrent as it can get, it is the literal destruction of a whole generation of Palestinian Gazans that is the reality. To see exactly how just read the interview on Democracy Now with Pernille Ironside, chief of UNICEF’s Gaza field office.

Pernille Ironside: "Today, the future of Palestinian children in Gaza is extraordinarily bleak. The entire population has experienced a deep form of trauma, and there isn’t a single family in Gaza who hasn’t experienced personally death, injury, the loss of their home, extensive damage, displacement. The psychological toll that has on a people, it just cannot be overestimated, and especially on children. I’ve met children who have experienced extraordinary wounds, who have watched as family members were dismembered before their eyes, obliterated. You know, shortly after that terrible incident on the beach." *** "Across from the al-Deira Hotel and where four children were killed. And I met with the surviving three boys, who had watched and who had just barely escaped with their lives. They were in a deep state of trauma. I mean, the impact and the type of weaponry that’s being used is literally shredding and obliterating people, and particularly children, who are so small and vulnerable." [Emphasis mine]

Barack Obama managed to speak some words of truth when he said what needs to be done to resolve the "cancer" threatening all humanity:

From governments and peoples across the Middle East, there has to be a common effort to extract this cancer so that it does not spread. There has to be a clear rejection of this kind of nihilistic ideologies. One thing we can all agree on is that a group like Israel (ISIL) has no place in the 21st century. Friends and allies around the world, we share a common security and a common set of values that are rooted in the opposite of what we saw yesterday (and today). And we will continue to confront this hateful terrorism and replace it with a sense of hope and civility.

Its one more example that your superficial encounters with American Jewish people are worse than useless as a basis to characterize Israeli society. To my mind, your lumping together Jews of different nationality as to their social and cultural practices, is a form of antisemitism. First of all, I do not endeavor to “characterize” Israeli society. Israel is among the most racially diverse countries in the world. 

Secondly, my “superficial encounters” are family based and close friend based, as well as having been immersed in socialist left wing politics all of my life which is very heavily Jewish influenced – from my grandmother who was a communist and Abraham Lincoln Brigade veteran to a woman in college who is also hardcore leftist and staunch zionist to attending a high school in SF which was two-thirds Jewish in which debates about Israel raged and I was smart enough to watch from a distance. 

I don’t “characterize” Israel as anything except that culturally it has forged a nationalism which is probably stronger than any other partly in the aftermath of the Holocaust and history of European pogroms, but also because even the peace activists there do not feel safe. The woman I knew was in Israel and heard the booms of the rockets as they landed in the distance, only to have her work take her to France where she had to hide from a massive anti-Semitic near-riot. 

Yes, they are a very diverse people. But they are brought together by the fact that they are broadly hated in the west as “Zionists,” “Christ killers,” and in recent decades “infidels.” In the past week, Jews and their supporters planning to demonstrate were silenced in social democratically tolerant Sweden due to threats of violence. And the Palestinian Authority, the “moderates,” approve of school curriculum materials based upon false assertions about Judaism originating with Stormfront, a Nazi website. This along with a history of Palestinian resistance sending teenage girls strapped with bombs into dance halls to kill herself and other children – and where a friend of mine inadvertently leaves a backpack on a bus leading to a bomb scare. 

I will read the article, but from the intensity of my in-law Jewish family on the subject, including my wife’s communist grandmother, and so many old friends and people I’ve worked with for so many years – many of whom oppose Israeli policies – all of them read the Hamas charter with visceral terror. All of them. [Emphasis mine]

Noam Chomsky's speaks about this:

So, for example, the electoral program of Israel’s governing party, Likud, states explicitly that there can never be a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. And they not only state it in their charter, that’s a call for the destruction of Palestine, explicit call for it. And they don’t only have it in their charter, you know, their electoral program, but they implement it. That’s quite different from the Hamas charter.

The disconnect with normal, rational sanity is almost palpable. You cannot treat people like sub-human mongrel dogs, dispossess them from their rightful land and slaughter them at will for 70 years and not engender an undying hatred. Then use that hatred to justify your own existence. If ISIL is a terrorist nation now then so is Israel. They both operate from the same base.

So, if you haven't figured out what, where and who are the American Gaza, odds are it is YOU.

Listening to this, I was reminded of Jewish communities under the Nazi regime who believed that if they cooperated and showed they were good citizens then all would be well. But the road from cooperation to the concentration camps and then the gas chambers was a direct one.

So why the fear? Why the constant, six-decade-long campaign against Gaza? Because Palestinians in Gaza, more so than anywhere else, pose a threat to Israel’s legitimacy. 

Israel is an illegitimate creation brought about by a union between racism and colonialism. The refugees who make up the majority of the population in the Gaza Strip are a constant reminder of this. 

They are a reminder of the crime of ethnic cleansing upon which Israel was established. The poverty, lack of resources and lack of freedom stand in stark contrast to the abundance, freedom and power that exist in Israel and that rightfully belongs to Palestinians.

Half-truths, Omissions and Distortions

When I listened to Noam Chomsky on Democracy Now I thought about Eric Kirk and his plethora of corrupt and degenerate attitudes and disease-ridden filthy lies puked out on his blog, SoHum Parlance II, about the Palestinian people and their struggle to be recognized and accepted as such. "Hideous. Sadistic. Vicious. Murderous. That is how Noam Chomsky describes Israel’s 29-day offensive in Gaza that killed nearly 1,900 people and left almost 10,000 people injured." And literally decimated the infrastructure - leaving thousands homeless. That's how I describe Kirk and his supporters' war on the truth, and everything that is held decent and right in our society and community with their constant "repetition of the most vulgar Israeli propaganda."

Part 1 - NOAM CHOMSKY: It’s a hideous atrocity, sadistic, vicious, murderous, totally without any credible pretext. It’s another one of the periodic Israeli exercises in what they delicately call "mowing the lawn." That means shooting fish in the pond, to make sure that the animals stay quiet in the cage that you’ve constructed for them, after which you go to a period of what’s called "ceasefire," which means that Hamas observes the ceasefire, as Israel concedes, while Israel continues to violate it. Then it’s broken by an Israeli escalation, Hamas reaction. Then you have period of "mowing the lawn." This one is, in many ways, more sadistic and vicious even than the earlier ones. 

Part 2 - NOAM CHOMSKY on BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, we don’t really have to listen to CBS, because we can listen directly to the Israeli propaganda agencies, which he’s quoting. It’s a shameful moment for U.S. media when it insists on being subservient to the grotesque propaganda agencies of a violent, aggressive state. As for the comment itself, the Israel comment which he—propaganda comment which he quoted, I guess maybe the best comment about that was made by the great Israeli journalist Amira Hass, who just described it as "sadism masked as compassion." That’s about the right characterization.

About the issue of "recognition," or refusal to recognize, that justifies the "destruction of Israel" as illegitimate - Something of which Eric Kirk is an expert.

AMY GOODMAN: But you hear repeatedly, Hamas has in its charter a call for the destruction of Israel. And how do you guarantee that these thousands of rockets that threaten the people of Israel don’t continue? 

NOAM CHOMSKY: Very simple. First of all, Hamas charter means practically nothing. The only people who pay attention to it are Israeli propagandists, who love it. It was a charter put together by a small group of people under siege, under attack in 1988. And it’s essentially meaningless. There are charters that mean something, but they’re not talked about. So, for example, the electoral program of Israel’s governing party, Likud, states explicitly that there can never be a Palestinian state west of the Jordan River. And they not only state it in their charter, that’s a call for the destruction of Palestine, explicit call for it. And they don’t only have it in their charter, you know, their electoral program, but they implement it. That’s quite different from the Hamas charter. [Emphasis mine]

Suck eggs. When I think of a "egg-sucker" I think of a weasel or lying, deviate skunk. However, there is another meaning, quoting Wikipedia: "Teaching grandmother to suck eggs is an English language saying meaning that a person is giving advice to someone else about a subject that they already know about (and probably more than the first person." That's why I let Noam Chomsky do the talking.

The degradation and evil ways of the Zionist Jews and their ability to act with such deprivation and sadistic immoral beliefs and thinking that permeates their souls to the core did not happen in a day. It's been with them from the beginning as Golda Meir's statement attest. Quote: "We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children," she said, "but we can never forgive them for forcing us to kill their children." This is the most corrupt and depraved way of thinking and is the root of all war and violence. Yet local people seem to think they have that right. Another example of death-dealing thinking from dead souls.

The Bible's Jesus spoke of these Jews in his time, words of truth and wisdom that still apply to this day.

A Tree and Its Fruit "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Allowing the Jews to massacre at will the Palestinian people, pulverize the land and the infrastructure they do not want for their precious Zionist Jew State puts all humanity on trial and puts their legitimate existence in judgment. Everyone has a personal responsibility to stand before God and say, "NO MORE." The way you do that is by simply NOT COOPERATING. Take a lesson on Non-Cooperation from the Hamas. The Universe stands in total condemnation of the corrupt, lawless, illegitimate, lying, murdering Jew and everyone that supports such insanity.

What the Jews did and are doing to Palestine is exactly what shall happen to them. Not just what they did, but what they intend and for the same reasons why. The Laws of the Universe are consistent, constant and equanimous in such matters. The time for talking is long past over. The Jews shall recognize the Palestinians legitimate right to exist as a people and as a nation when they are prostrate, on their knees begging for mercy.

The World is on fire. The question I ask you is: "Will you survive?"

But the truth is that the Israeli Defense Forces should be given the Nobel Peace Prize ... a Nobel Peace Prize for fighting with unimaginable restraint." -Democracy Now.

This is Israel's "unimaginable restraint":

"Human Rights Watch released a report, earlier this week, accusing Israeli soldiers of shooting and killing fleeing civilians in Gaza. The group based its reports on interviews with seven Palestinians who fled fighting in the village of Khuza’a."

Anyone that accepts the thinking or beliefs that justifies what he says as valid, supports, enables and defends what Israel and the Jews did and are doing to the Palestinians, waging war on defenseless women and children, trying to break the Palestinian people's will risks becoming infected, sick in their soul and die. I disagree with part of Mitch’s comment. One can easily imagine the Gazans reacting to Israel’s dismantling of its settlements there several years ago in a manner quite different from what occurred: instead of destroying the greenhouses left behind by the settlers, they could have used them to grow produce; instead of lobbing rockets at Israeli territory, they could have strengthened their own infrastructure; instead of electing Hamas to power, they could have voted for a party that even the European Union considers terrorist; instead of using cement to construct tunnels into Israeli soil, they could have built shelters. I have no difficulty imagine a scenario quite unlike what we are now witnessing.

But no, I don’t think ending the Gaza occupation will go a long way, or any distance whatsoever, towards preventing violence. Did you read the Hamas charter?

Yes, I got extremely pissed off when you lied about Oz’s question (sic, sic, sic). That is what the left does — it ignores the absolute day-to-day reality Israel faces and wonders, as if there is any wonder to be had, how Israel can be so mean. If that means my blog persona has offended you, well, I hope the offense was worth it to you.

I feel no need to checkmate you or anyone else, but the smugness with which the world refuses to acknowledge this no win situation and that it has NO IDEA WHATSOEVER how it could respond differently than the IDF is a source of personal rage when I dwell on it, which I will shortly stop doing, for my own sake.

This problem is not Israel’s fault and it is not the Palestinians fault. The world created this problem and the world owes the Israelis and the Palestinians safety within the borders the world set. And the world has demonstrated its total unwillingness to admit that, or lift a finger to protect the descendants of the people it “gave” someone else’s country to.

“Racist collective punishment of a Third World people” — the people being “punished” in Gaza are of the same race as the Israeli Arabs who sit in the Knesset (parliament) of Israel — and of the man who heads Israel’s highest court. “Collective punishment”? From my vantage point, I see Hamas collectively punishing its own people by putting them in harm’s way — by hiding its rockets among schools, mosques, and hospitals. “Suicide by Israel,” one might call it (by analogy with “suicide by cop,” when a self-destructive person forces another party — a cop — to shoot at him, by engaging in unacceptably menacing behavior). —- This is what I read on a different blog today: If Hamas had its way, Gaza would look a lot like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. The Ebola-like Plague that is America

America is a plague infected country hemorrhaging putrid, dead blood from within and without. When the World realizes that America is the real corporal contagion and how deadly it is to man's survival upon this Earth, America will be totally quarantined into complete isolation. By that time the same disease will have already killed the evil Jews and their Zionist State, Israel. Sadly, however, one of the most prolific contagions that poses the greatest threat is a rotting corpse. Here are the origins of this disease and how this deadly disease manifests itself in American society:

In the Middle East, the Palestinian people find themselves in the grip of a terrorist group that has embarked on a strategy to get its own children killed in order to build sympathy for its cause - a strategy that might actually be working, at least in some quarters. 

Last week, I found a quote of many years ago by Golda Meir, one of Israel's early leaders, which might have been said yesterday. 

"We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children," she said. "But we can never forgive them for forcing us to kill their children." [Emphasis mine]

These are the words of Bob Schieffer, "CBS' host of Face the Nation as he ended his show's broadcast with a monologue about the 'world gone mad,' in which he quoted Golda Meir and Will Durant." The rest of his "madness" is here. These are the words of the most rotten, despotic, corrupt and sick insane thinking imaginable. Not only is this statement a filthy lie it degrades the Palestinian people beyond any possibility of recognized human value.

And if you need anymore putrid infected blood defining this sickness, just listen to Barack Obama and John Kerry explain why only Israel has the legitimate right to defend itself. But, Obama, Kerry and Netanyahu only represent the people and in a Democratic system, the people are ultimately responsible.

And then there are the sick people. It isn't just the American and Israeli governments that puke out this sociopathic death. In this Washington Post article, Israelis support Netanyahu and Gaza war, despite rising deaths on both sides, "87% of the Jewish Israelis support continuing the Gaza operation. A survey by the Israel Democracy Institute found that 95 percent of Israeli Jews think the operation in Gaza is just..."

And then there is the U.S. support:

Then there is the local reality demonstrated by the Brownshirt Blogs. Awhile back I wrote about how these blogs and their supporters contribute to the growing fascism and racism affecting everyone locally. A good example is apathy and denial for any personal responsibility expressed in Eric Kirk's, Mideast Crisis Discussion on Thursday Night Talk this Week - For example, he starts out by saying: "It’s kind of hard to discuss the matter dispassionately as body parts are flying all over the Gaza, but we’ll make the effort." And: "Undisputed is the fact that Gazans are being killed by a hundred for every Israeli killed." And concludes with this brilliant zinger: "But I’m not going to get into a discussion of which side is more or less morally culpable."

The de facto reality defines who is "morally culpable," but he's too gutless to confront issues of morality and decency. He can tell you who is the substandard human and effectively frame the issue by inferring who is morally culpable - Oh yeah, and at the same time, he can tell you all about what the Universe thinks. Even so, he does take on the issue, which is more than most. Read what he says in the comment section and you will easily see and understand how he defines himself. He, as usual, is totally ignorant of what the war is all about and why and what people are dying for. Actually, he might get a hint if he ever understood what he and I are about - it's the same issue. Like the Jews, it is a war he already lost and is either too stupid or too sick to know it - yet.

I wonder how Kirk would act if his family was bottled up in his home with nowhere to run for protection because the local political leaders he voted into office "got a grip on him" and he was forced to wait for that retributive drone missile or bomb to blow his wife and children all to hell - "with (their) body parts flying all over" Humboldt County?

You do not kill women and children, bomb refuge camps and level whole towns when fighting a military so-called terrorist organization. The Jew war is with all Palestinian people. But, the Jew is not satisfied with simply defeating the Palestinians. The want to humiliate them and prove to the world that the Palestinian man has no manhood - no power to protect his women and children cowering at the feet of the mighty Jew. It is the only way the Jew can justify the legitimate taking Palestinian land for their Jew State. That is why they have repeatedly raped the Palestinian people for 66 years. The difference between a domesticated dog and a wild coyote.

If you listen to the news about the Middle East you would believe Israel is defending itself from some radical terrorist that's attacking them. But, if you look at the pictures you soon realize that the terrorists are the Jews who are attacking and killing innocent women and children. The only way Americans know how to fight. Is it any wonder, then, that the Americans support the Jews?

A few people have the fortitude and courage to speak out on what they know to be true. A good example of this was Yonatan Shapira, a former Israeli captain and Air Force pilot speaking on Democracy Now this morning, Thursday, July 24, 2014. His perspective lends some rather interesting observations. He starts the interview by trying to get Amy Goodman's cameraman to show that in Tel Aviv, City Center, that the Kirya, the headquarter of the army is just few meters from the biggest hospital in Tel Aviv, Ichilov and  is surrounded by civilians, women and children. So, who is hiding behind civilians to prosecute their wars? Do you see the hypocrisy?

He says, in part:

But overall, overall, there is a disease in my country, and the disease is spreading very fast, and it’s called fascism and racism. Fascism and racism is now the biggest threat of the Jewish people in the Middle East. And I can just cry and shout and ask everyone that hear us now to join the BDS movement, to join the boycott, divestment and sanction movement, and to try to put enormous pressure on your leaders, wherever they are, that they, in turn, will help us here stop this massacre, stop this ongoing slaughter of innocent people. I have friends in Gaza now that yesterday called and told us that their house in Shejaiya was leveled. Now the only thing they have is the cellphone, and a family of nine people are hiding in the Shifa Hospital. This is a war crime. This is an ongoing slaughter of innocent people. And that’s the discussion. That’s what we have to talk about, how to stop it. The festering disease he's talking about, "fascism and racism" originates in America - in that, there is a common purpose, backed up by the radical, conservative religions both Jew and Christian, to justify the massacre and slaughter of innocent people to perpetuate Jew existence. He concluded:

And I think that if I have to give one allegory to this whole thing, and this need of Israel and me, myself, of self-protection—legitimate thing, by the way; I want to be safe, I don’t want anyone to bomb me and to kill me and my baby—I would imagine it as gang rape. And forgive me for using this hard language, but when you have a group of people raping someone, and this person that is being raped starting to scratch, the first thing you want to do in order to stop the scratches is to stop the rape. And what Israel, official Israel, is trying to do is to continue the rape and deal with the scratches. And I say, stop the rape, stop the occupation, stop the apartheid, stop this inhumane ghettoization of Palestinians, and then—then—we can start talking, and we can reach peace agreements and all these beautiful words that now don’t mean anything for us. I learned when living in coyote country to protect our dog and cat at all times. When a domesticated dog goes after a cat, usually all it takes is for one scratch on the dog's nose and it runs off and leaves the cat alone. So, cats generally survive a belligerent encounter with a dog. Dogs don't like cat scratches. With coyotes, dogs, specially smaller dogs and cat's scratches don't bother them. Why is that? They don't pay any attention to defensive dog bite and cat scratches. When coyotes attack, they go straight for the kill. 

That is exactly what Israel and the Jews are doing with the Palestinian people. If they can't get them to agree to the rape, participate in it or respond to it, then they are going to kill them. To the Jew, the Hamas are nothing more than Palestinian fingernails.

It is his kind of beliefs that enunciates the thinking that condemns and judges the Jew by Universal Law as unfit and illegitimate to live on this Earth. The barbarity spoken here is gut-wrenching sick. The Bible's Peter says regarding such people: "By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men." (2 Peter 3:7 NIV) Hantman and his bloody Jews are living epitome of "ungodly men."

The Jews, call them Zionist, Israelis, whatever you want - to me they are all illegitimate humans unfit to populate this Earth. They are a malignant cancer killing all humanity. Their grand scheme as terrorists was to eradicate the land of Palestine of its local population for themselves; setting themselves up with their own sovereign nation called Israel. With the help of another terrorist nation that was successful in doing the same thing, they managed to take some of the land, but could not justify the butchery required to exterminate the Palestinians, so they waged a 66 year war on the Palestinian people to get them to try to defend themselves - commit acts of aggression in self-defence - that the Jews could use as justification for their genocide. As Palestinian Deaths Top 100, Who’s to Blame for Escalating Violence? What Can Be Done?

JOSHUA HANTMAN: Well, let’s be clear: Israel is currently under attack. I mean, the professor talked about occupation right now. Let me remind you that Israel actually left the Gaza Strip in 2005. We removed all of our settlements. We removed the IDF forces. We took out 10,000 Jews from their houses as a step for peace, because Israel wants peace and it extended its hand for peace. That was in 2005. Since 2005, over 8,000 rockets, missiles and mortars have been indiscriminately fired at our civilians.

Now, the professor also talked about human rights and about international law. Hamas, the internationally recognized terrorist organization, controls the Gaza Strip. They are hiding behind civilians while firing at our civilians. Let me remind you that just yesterday the Hamas interior minister—the Hamas Interior Ministry, they called for their people, for their civilians, to act as human shields. Their spokesperson also came out and said, "Come and act as human shields," because while we mourn every civilian death on both sides, Hamas celebrates civilian deaths.

I blame Hamas for every civilian death, because while we send text messages and phone calls and even put warning shots in the areas where we’re going to try and take out the terrorist infrastructure and the particular terrorists, Hamas fire from mosques, they fire from next to houses, they fire from schools. They keep their missiles and their rockets in the basements of houses. This is a double war crime. They are firing at our civilians indiscriminately. I mean, they fired yesterday towards Jerusalem, OK. They’re firing at Jerusalem indiscriminately. What would happen if one of these rockets landed in an Arab area in Jerusalem? Or if, God forbid, it hit a holy site of the Muslims? It’s indiscriminate fire. It’s a war crime. I actually spoke to a lawyer yesterday who told me there are five or six war crimes that Hamas is guilty of. You cannot blame occupation because Israel left in 2005. And one more point—

JOSHUA HANTMAN: Ma’am, you know, as an international lawyer, that as soon as you put munitions within a house or fire from within a house or fire from within a schoolyard, that becomes a military target. No country in the world would accept a situation whereby over three-quarters of their population are under direct rocket fire. Ma’am, just imagine—just imagine if the United States had over 200 million of its population under rocket fire from an internationally recognized terrorist organization, which, by the way, I’m sure you are not defending here, because Hamas, they wouldn’t allow a young, liberal, secular woman to express her views like you do, ma’am. They would not allow my gay friends to express their sexuality freely. They would not allow Jews to open synagogues or Christians to open churches. This is an Islamist, fundamentalist organization that you’re sitting here defending. And I also assume, ma’am, that you don’t justify their use of human shields, which they openly talk about. They’re proud about it, ma’am. They don’t hide the fact that they use human shields. I take it you would join me in condemning this.

JOSHUA HANTMAN: Let me actually correct you, because this escalation was started by Hamas. And if you look, what the professor said is completely incorrect. The truce was not held by Hamas. And every single month for the last decade, rockets have been fired into Israel. Even after November 2012, where we had this Operation Pillar of Defense, and we restored the deterrents, you know how many rockets were fired in 2013, the quietest year in a decade? There were still 76 rockets fired at Israel, 76 indiscriminate rockets fired at our kids, fired at our old people, fired at our women. This—

AMY GOODMAN: But could you respond to this issue of the deaths?

JOSHUA HANTMAN: Yes, ma’am. I’m going to get—I’m going to get to it, ma’am.

AMY GOODMAN: You’ve got over a hundred Palestinians who have now been killed.

JOSHUA HANTMAN: I’m going to get—well, first of all, I’ve already said that for Israel, any civilian death is not only a tragedy, but it’s a failure, as well. And we review every single operation and every single strike to see how we can improve. We’ve hit over 800 targets to try and stop these rockets, to try and stop this indiscriminate missile fire against our civilians. Out of those 800 targets, I’ll be honest, the precision—the precision is quite outstanding. And there is no military in the history of the world that has actually used such precision targets. I mean, think about it from a military tactics point of view. We tell our enemies—we tell Hamas where we’re going to hit. We tell them with text messages, with phone calls, with leaflets. We tell them in order to get civilians out of harm’s way. But for them, civilian death is actually—it’s actually a success. This is what they want. And—

JOSHUA HANTMAN: My counterpart—my counterpart would not condemn this use of human shields, which Hamas is proud about. They call it—they call for it on TV. They said it—their spokesperson said it yesterday. Their Interior Ministry put out a press release saying, "Palestinians, come to the roofs. Stay in the homes where we’re firing the rockets from." It’s disgusting. And I would like her to actually condemn it.

NOURA ERAKAT: I absolutely consider it reprehensible. What straight-minded person would actually accept that? That’s not the point. I’ve repeatedly explained that Palestinians are not robots who listen to Hamas. They care about their children and their families. This—

AMY GOODMAN: Noura Erakat, what do you think needs to happen, in this last minute that we have?

NOURA ERAKAT: You know, what really needs to happen is what has needed to happen for over 66 years of the displacement and dispossession of Palestinians, over 47 years of military occupation and continuing colonial expansion, which is the lifting of the siege, the end of the occupation, equality for all in Palestine, without distinction—Palestine and Israel, without distinction to religion, as Israel would have us believe. The entirety of the Israeli state is built on the premise of a demographic equation that needs and necessitates a Jewish majority. That should make us all concerned and raise red flags for us and make us stop before we call it the only democracy the Middle East and continue to fund it another year with $3.1 billion without any accountability.

AMY GOODMAN: What would stop the Israeli assault on Gaza, Joshua Hantman?

JOSHUA HANTMAN: Ma’am, what would stop the Israeli assault on Gaza? A commitment for a long-term ceasefire. No more rocket fire. I’m talking about not the trickling in of more rockets and more missiles, but actually Hamas stopping the rocket fire. Let me remind you, ma’am, that the Palestinian Authority, who, by the way, controls Areas A and B in the West Bank and—

JOSHUA HANTMAN: —used to have control also in the Gaza Strip, they’ve just joined a unity government with Hamas—

AMY GOODMAN: We have to end it here.
